Week 33, part 2--Trevor's Graduation

Friday, Aug. 14th
We were up and out again, headed for Pottersville, New York where Trevor has lived for the last two years, minus some brief breaks.  He finished year #2 of the Word of Life Bible Institute and this was graduation weekend.  It's the third year in a row he's worn a cap and gown- high school grad, year 1 grad, and now year 2 grad!

It was a very long summer without seeing him and a grueling one for him serving at eight weeks of summer camps on The Island.  We were excited to see him, excited to see him graduate, and excited to get him back!

We got to meet (in-person) his lovely girlfriend, Sara.  They'd been friends all year, but over the summer, something 'clicked'.  She's lovely, beautiful, outgoing, easy to be with, from Panama, serves on the media team, has sooooo much in common with Trevor, and loves Jesus.

We sat through the Friday night service together; so fun to be on Trevor's turf, watching him interact with his people.

The troops rallied and traveled for graduation, so I rented a sweet, little AirBnB so we could all be together.  It was 2 miles from the school and worked out wonderfully.  The owners went full-send with the Adirondack vibe.

Saturday, Aug. 15th
Graduation was at 10a on a 10/10 weather morning with the jaw-dropping backdrop of the lake and mountains.

My sweet Lisa, still recovering from a round of chemo, brought a crew up for the day.

You got it, BB!

Sweet girl was such a champ; no family here to celebrate with, so we did our best.

We all ate in the cafeteria together and then changed and went back to the swimming hole and cliff jumping spot Trevor introduced us to last year.

Kelly's capture!

Rocco's happy place!

Then back to the house for shenanigans, dinner, and games.  Our planned restaurant for dinner (VERY limited options up there) burned to the ground a few months ago, so we pivoted to pizza.  It was a very sweet night all together after a very sweet day of celebrations.  We felt the sacrificial love from the Cours to be there and my mama heart was full to have my kiddos take time off and prioritize the weekend for Trev.

The camp life (times 8 weeks) catching up!

Sweet Renna....she never ceases to amaze me.  I wish I'd thought of this!

Well-used Christmas gifts from C & K.

Celebrity!

...and because I'm so behind on the blog and because the upload is SO DUMB....here are some of Lisa's:

Sunday, Aug. 16th
We got up, tidied the cabin, and headed for home.  Trevor and Sara had only slept a couple of hours before heading to the airport to drop her.  He was way ahead of us.
...and...it's official!  Rocco can now drive siblings!
Making sure all the gear fits and she's ready for the start of the season.
