3 Months Old!

My little man is three months old. I feel like we are officially past the newborn stage and onto "baby". He continues to grow new rolls and new chins. He's squishy and kissable and such a love!

He continues to be very verbal. He'll 'talk' to just about anyone who puts their face in his. He laughs a lot easier, too.

On his 3 month birthday he rolled for the first time! I had laid him on his back under his jungle gym and I came back in the room to find him on his belly with one arm stuck.

He's gotten very good with his hands. He grasps objects put into them. He plays with them and chews on them. He's quite proficient at getting his thumb to his mouth. He doesn't really suck it; just kinda holds it there.

A Little Giggle

Rocco's been giggling for about 3 weeks now but I have failed to capture it on video. As soon as the camera comes out, he gets fixated on that and the moment is lost. Here is just a tiny sample...not that great. He laughs when I tickle him. He laughs when I'm wiping his face or chest off. He laughs when I get silly with him and tickle his face with my hair. What a sweet, little guy!

Summertime Fun

It's been hotter than hot here in the Northeast for a few days. The best way to stay cool is to be near the water. First we went to my Mom's cottage on the Lake. The kids LOVE it there!

Nathanael gave rides to cousins.
The older kids had a blast trying to balance on this canoe upside down.

Until it completely filled with water.

Bobbi patiently helped the boys do some fishing.
Rocco tried to stay cool in the shade.
And by dipping his little toes in the lake...for the first time.

Another fun thing to do is go to my Dad's (Pop's) house and do the 50 foot slip and slide. Even more fun is having Pop lather you with dish soap to increase speed down the 50 foot slip and slide!

Then, of course, the kids have spent puh-lenty of time in our pool. Rocco got totally submerged. After the initial shock, he loved it. I think he was grateful to get cooled off.
We also enjoyed a family day pool side with my two sisters.

Life Is Sweet

TJ lined all these Little People up to get on the bus. I got such a kick out of it that I had to take a picture.
Sweet Baby Rocco sleeps peacefully.

Madison is as girly as they come....until she's on her bike or at the playground. Then she's a wild one.

The older kids have been "whipping" each other around the house in this wagon. They got Rocco comfy with a blanket and pillow and were much more gentle as they pulled him around.

Kenny Chesney Concert

Colombo surprised me with Kenny Chesney tickets! I'm a huge country music fan and have always wanted to see him in concert. My Mom came to watch the kids. It was my first time leaving Rocco. We went with Bob and Jules since it happened to fall on her birthday. It was a mob scene of 20-30 year old red-neck wanna-be's mostly. Crazy tailgating in the parking lot. But when we got to our seats, we were pleasantly surprised to find that somehow we scored the senior section...well, not really, but everyone in our little area was more like 40-60. Perfect! He played a great show. Very energetic and I sang my little heart out right along with him. On the looonnnggg walk back to the car, the 4 of us determined that we may be getting a little old for concerts!

Weekend in Maine

We had a terrific time in Maine visiting with Colombo's side of the family. We had a mini family reunion with his Mom's family. Friday night was a cookout at his Aunt MaryJo's house. On Saturday we packed up early and headed to Birch Point State Park, more familiarly known as Lucia Beach. Growing up, Karen and her siblings would go to this beach with their mom and aunts, so it has special memories.

C4 found this (dead) starfish. We tried to bring it home...that ended badly.
This dude sat behind us. His suit (or whatever you call it) covered even less on the back!
Hotties- Courtney, Brandon, and Ashley (MaryJo's kids in birth order)

Then we headed home to MaryJo's for leftovers and a kickin' game of celebrity with all the cousins and significant others and Colombo's Dad.
Sunday morning his Aunt Brenda hosted a beautiful and delicious brunch. It was a gorgeous morning and a treat to sit out on her front porch. (Sitting in the back on the left is Nana--the matriarch)

Rocco didn't mind

Mimi even came for a while. She's doing great and as witty as ever.

The kids love going to Maine because they get totally spoiled by EVERYONE there. It's really wonderful to have such a loving family that pours so much time, love, tenderness, and kisses into our kids. And everyone is encouraging to us. We are very blessed!
