Week 40--Wedding Hangover

Monday, Oct. 3rd

Gratitude, relief, joy, sadness, exhaustion, elation, peace all filled my heart and home this day.  But mostly, gratitude.  I was in the garage first thing warming up for my workout and "Gratitude" came on (the song sung at the ceremony) and I was just overcome with emotion.  I just dropped to my knees, in tears, and worshipped.  Overcome by God's kindness that far exceeds anything I deserve.

The wedding hangover.  Big huge exhale.  I had big plans for the week- catch up on all the things, kick school into full gear, etc.  But this day...I did nothing!  By nothing, I mean took T to and from school, worked out, grocery shopped, did 3 loads of laundry, and carted kids around to activities all evening.  Oh, and C3 flew out at 6am for Nashville for business so I was on my own with the kids all week.  But other than that...nothing.  And it felt so nice.  So nice to not wake up to a pressing and urgent to-do list.  So nice to not wake up to many decisions to be made or challenges to overcome or details to think through.

Renna woke at her normal time but promptly fell back asleep and she and Rocco were out until 11am.  It hit us all hard, so we gave ourselves grace and just did nothing for the day.

Tuesday, Oct. 4th

Someone posted this beautiful fall, drone shot of the Congregational church in Hampton.  I grew up about half a mile from it.

Wednesday, Oct. 5th
Treatment day for Lisa.

Thursday, Oct. 6th
Open House at East Catholic.  I cannot wrap my brain around it being Rocco's turn!  We are thrilled to know that there's a chance Aiden might attend and these two could do the next 4 years side-by-side.
Thursday night - 9:30pm - a very typical scene:

Friday, Oct. 7th
Troubles at one of the apartments, so I met the plumber there.

Saturday, Oct. 8th
Harlem had spent the night with us, so he joined us at Renna's Columbus Day soccer tournament.
She shoots...
She scores!!!
...and an afternoon hockey game.
I picked up the gang from Tribe Wars in East Windsor and scooted them to Meg's to celebrate Mason's birthday.

Sunday, Oct 9th
Happy Birthday, Nathanael!

The fam went in about 5 different directions for the morning.  Renna had two more games, but lost in the championship.

Then Daddy's Dinner for those who were around.  Nathanael in his Nathanael way didn't want to interrupt everyone's football Sunday on account of his birthday, so we kept it low-key.  Trevor and Rocco spent an incredible amount of time trying to shatter a glass with their pitch and volume.  It was somethin'!

C4 and Kelly popped over for a quick birthday apple pie.

Happy Birthday to my UConn-attendin’, financial-plannin’, tax-preparin’, church-servin’, protein shake-drinkin’, late-night-hangin’, leftovers-finishin’, cookie-bakin’, third-born. Tall Brother is 19 today! Words I would use to describe him: loyal, fun, easy-going, character, integrity, dependable, honest, diligent, steady, tender, smart, handsome—a gift!

Bonus pictures:
Colombo spent 4 days in Nashville for an industry event with his two Justin's.

Maddy and Mason spent the week in Richmond, Virginia on their honeymoon.  We had very little communication all week, but she sent a couple of pictures.  From all accounts, it sounds like it was amazing and blissful and just the right pace.

My Favorite Memes, installment 31

So fun!  Not a whole lot of wisdom or spiritual truth in this installment; a whole lotta nonsense.  Enjoy!

Hahahaha!!!

Love this!

Fancy for guests!
