Week 12

I have multiple pictures for every day.  It's hard to pick just one with a new baby in the house.  Here are a few of my favorites.
Monday, Mar. 19th

 Tuesday, Mar. 20th
Renna is 2 weeks old today!!!
Napping in the swing.
First day of SPRING means free ice at Rita's!

Wednesday, Mar. 21st
Madison set Renna up with Baby Mozart.  Look how alert she is!

Renna first smiled at one week old, but now that it comes easier, we tried to get it on video...no luck.
Thursday, Mar. 22nd
85 degrees on this day in MARCH!!!  We went to the park in shorts and tank tops.
 Friday, Mar. 23rd
Big brother helping little brother with school.  Speaking of school, let me take a little detour.  Story #1...I was helping Nathanael with his math...a new concept...decimals.  As I was helping him, it seemed like there was a lesson or explanation missing.  I flipped back a couple lessons and still seemed like the "intro" to decimals was missing.  However, upon a closer look, I saw that the day before's lesson had been ripped out of his book.  When I asked Nathanael what happened to it, he admitted that he ripped it out and FLUSHED IT DOWN THE TOILET!..."cause it was too hard."

So, expert moms and dads, what do you do with that one??

Story #2...I was teaching Trevor the special phonics sound, "Sh in ship".  Do you see where this is going?  On the back of the flashcard he was reading the word "shut", only he was saying "sh*t".  He said it about 7 times and C4 and I got laughing so hard that Trev started crying.  Ahhh...good times!

Saturday, Mar. 24th
My sister and good friends threw me a lovely "Meet Renna Shower".  It was a complete surprise and lovely day with my closest, treasured friends and family.  More on that later.

Good for a Laugh!

Ninny kept the kids while I was in the hospital having Renna.  On the 2nd day they came to visit, Madison reported to me that Nathanael and Trevor were not behaving appropriately and making things difficult for Ninny.

I pulled Nathanael and Trevor up to the edge of my bed and sternly asked, "Boys, are you being good for Ninny?"  Two heads bobbed up and down.

"Are you making things hard for Ninny?"  Two heads shake back and forth.

"Are you being rambunctious?"  Trevor nods yes, Nathanael says no.  I ask, "Why does one say yes and one say no?"

Nathanael answered, "He doesn't know what rambunctious means.  [pause, pause] And neither do I."

The kids had their first rehearsal for Passion of the King.  Sixty kids were crammed into the choir room.  The first question from the director, "Who can tell me why we are doing this?"

No one responds.  Finally Nathanael raises his hand, as if he'd given everyone ample time to respond and now the responsibility fell on him.  "To honor God and expand His Kingdom."

Well no one was going to answer after that all-encompassing, complete answer.  So proud.

After Renna's birth, Meg brought a delicious meal and chocolate cake.  Upon sinking his teeth into his piece of cake, Nathanael said, "Ohhhh!  I am sooo glad Renna was born!"

TREV
Trevor and I stopped at McD for a yogurt parfait.  At the 1st window where I was to pay, there was a VERY large girl at the register.  Trevor pipes up, "Hey, Mom!  That girl looks like...[oh, no, Trevor, just stop now, stop now]...like one of the girls on Biggest Loser!'

I don't think she heard him.  Talk about instant sweat!

Once on the road with parfait in hand, I said, "Please be careful with that and don't make a mess."

Trevor responded, "Don't worry, Mom.  I'm the Master of Careful."

Once the parfait was gone, Trevor figured the best way to spend the rest of the car ride was to count to 102 over and over again.  Good times.

Trevor said about Renna today,"Wow! She lost a lot of teef (teeth)."

Rocco slept on the way home from Nathanael's tournament game in Worcester.

Saturday, Mar. 17th
We checked into a Worcester hotel to spend the night for a couple of Nathanael's tournament games and his team banquet.  The kids had a blast in the hotel pool.  Eight of us in one room was, um, fun?

Nathanael rehearsed his part as young king david in The Passion of the King.

Will I Remember?

her head fitting perfectly into my hand
the little grunts she makes when she nurses
the sweet smell of her neck
the way her head fits under my chin when she lays on my chest
how soft the bottom of her feet are
the way she scrunches her face when she stretches
