Monday, June 29thHappy 20th birthday to my precious Trevor! He reported having a great day. His coworkers decorated his office and he heard from many friends and family throughout the day.
I ran Jr High camp registration and rode the bus up to New Hampshire to drop them off. Rookie mistake! I've ridden the bus for all 3 camps in previous years- Kids Camp, Jr High, and Sr High. And so I know FULL WELL that the Kids are super quiet because of nerves. The Sr highers either sleep or scroll their phones. However.....those Jr highers?? They are the tough ones that do all manner of things including a sandwich in the bus toilet!!!
But we made it despite a peanut contraband incident. Renna declined my request for a picture.
Tuesday, June 30th
Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Lee will celebrate 50 years of marriage in August. I thought their plan sounded genius! They picked five locations that have been significant / meaningful / special throughout their married life and they are taking five trips to those places. I just think it adds so much meaning and intention AND stretches out the festivities throughout the year. They texted this sweet picture from their time in Maine. Cheers to 50! They've been a glowing example of staying even when it's hard and imperfect.

I thought the light was so pretty through the trees on my walk.
Also on my walk, I discovered the reason we lost power at 6:30a. It was out for half the day. Only slightly inconvenient since I was trying hard to stay ahead of my 4th of July prep and brought home my Costco haul to no power.
It was a HOT week with several days dipping into the 100s. C4 and/or Kelly have been getting the baby to the pool fairly often. He loves the water! It's perfect since my teens are in it less and less, that now we have the next gen ready to get lots of use out of it!
Colombo and I went down to Hammonassett to catch the sunset and dinner on the water.

We held our annual 4th of July bash with about 60 friends, celebrating 250 years of AMERICA. We knew it was gonna be toasty and I was concerned about the lack of shade on the deck. Mercifully, we had decent cloud cover while people were eating. Unfortunately, the clouds also opened up with unforecasted rain (downpour!) forcing everyone inside for a couple hours and threatening the possibility of fireworks. Colombo watched the radar intently and saw a window from 9:10-9:40 with no rain. Colombo, Shaun, and Ed did a speed round of lighting it all off which made for a pretty epic show! Lisa captured the afternoon in photos.
I'm sure I take it for granted because it's all we've known for 30 years, but we have done some life with these two. So grateful to have them on our team always.
