Wow! Another week of underwhelming pictures. I guess maybe with Prince of Peace kicking into high gear and preparing way ahead for a full, busy weekend didn't leave much room for photo ops. I don't know.
Monday, Nov. 13th
No picture. But these two were from the day before; a workshop that Maddy went to in Worcester and earned some sort of something award. I wasn't there.
Tuesday, Nov. 14th
Thanksgiving prep. Placecards are my fave.
Wednesday, Nov. 15th
Someone texted this, asking if Maddy models dance clothes. She doesn't, but she could.
Renna graded her own paper. "R" of course is for Renna.
Thursday, Nov. 16th
That time we got booted from usual rehearsal spaces and the only place to work was upstairs.
Friday, Nov. 17th
Way back in April, Maddy was contacted and asked to dance for our district's women's conference. Of course we were thrilled for the opportunity. The vision the director had was for a duet with a guy, and Maddy was given two songs to pick from. Upfront, we warned the director that finding a male partner can be very difficult to do. After a few dancers committed and then backed out, it was apparent two weeks out that the partner thing wasn't happening. I emailed the director, but assured her it would be beautiful and powerful. As it turned out, there was no way two people could have danced on that stage. It was so tiny! So it all worked out.
Maddy choreographed it on her own and it was beautiful and moving. She and I drove up early for a run-through and tech. We finished that up and had time to do dinner together. The director said, "Oh, here. Let me give you your honorarium now because things will just be too hectic later on after you actually dance."
Without hesitation, Maddy replied, "Could you please just put it towards the missions' offering you're taking tonight in the service?"
She never ceases to amaze me.
After dinner we returned to stretch, get into costume, and go into service. We were in the almost-empty hallway chatting with Lisa and her girls who came to watch and support. Meredith Andrews (Christian artist) who was there to lead worship for the weekend was walking to the auditorium, so I bravely asked her if I could bother her for a quick picture. She agreed and then random woman wearing a flag dress donning a church-lady-sit-in-the-front-row-and-fan-myself-wooden, flip fan took it upon herself to photo bomb! We laughed nervously and waited for her to get over herself and move along, but nope! She stayed and ruined all ten pictures I took. So.very.annoying!!!

click here. I missed the first minute or so because I was so distracted by the mic stand they left (which was supposed to be moved) and worried about her seeing it and working around it. And then I remembered to start the video. We all enjoyed the entire service very much!
Saturday, Nov. 18th
A full, wonderful day! The Saturday before Thanksgiving meant we were celebrating with my side of the family. I'll post separately. Before that, I was up at 5:30 finishing preparations, then I had rehearsal from 10-1. By the time I got home, some guests were already there. We had a lovely day together and everyone did a little extra special something for me since it was also my birthday.
What a nice way to celebrate, sharing the day with so many loved ones! After Thanksgiving wound down, we went across the street and had the most fun adult evening with some of my besties. Also, when we left, we left C4 and Kelly in charge of 8 or so kids and a disaster of a house. ALL ON THEIR OWN, they cleaned up Thanksgiving just as good as if Colombo and I had tackled it. I was speechless! What a gift! Unexpected, and even uncharacteristic, but oh so appreciated!
