After asking to get on a horse for at least a year now, I finally coordinated with my friend to get Maddy a ride. My friend Kirsten has 3 horses in Coventry. She did a great job teaching Maddy how to brush and tack the horse. Then Madison rode with a lead while Kirsten explained how to go, stop and steer. Madison LOVED it!!! I guess it's in her blood from her cowboy great-grandfather, Milo.

Weekend at the Cape
We just got back from a beautiful weekend on the Cape. Our friends from church have family who live there, so we went for two nights sans kids. The weather was perfect. Colombo and I had a date night Friday. Then Saturday we went on their Sea Ray and dropped anchor at Martha's Vineyard next to Oprah's yacht. We had dinner on the water Saturday night. Sunday morning we went to Cape Cod Church and brunch. Finally we spent a couple hours on the beach and drove home. It was so relaxing and a perfect get-away.
Summer Reading
The kids have bridge books and a reading requirement they have for the summer break. I usually sit and read with Madison for hers. She was all excited about reading her Bible now that she can sound most of the words out. I'm surprised at how fast she's improving.
Anyway, I thought it was so great that she had a desire to pick up the Bible. We started out in Genesis. I thought, "This is wonderful! Her little reading adventure for the summer in the Bible."
One afternoon she said, "Mom, can we read?" I said, "Well go ahead and read out loud while I finish packing." She proudly held her Bible out and started...."Adam made love to his wife Eve."

The Wedding
Jonathan and Andrea renewed their vows and had their reception bash July 6th. All of us except Trevor were in it. The whole day was beautiful. The kids were so adorable and enjoyed it all so much. Nathanael was the ring bearer, Madison the most beautiful flower girl, and Colombo did a reading. C4 also put a few to shame with his dance moves.

We enjoyed the whole weekend of festivities with a BBQ Saturday, visiting with out-of-town family, and of course, celebrating with Jonathan and Andrea.

Trevor Turns One!
Once upon a time, there was the most precious little baby boy.
But time slips by faster than we want sometimes and before his Mom knew it, a whole year had passed. So to celebrate, his family took him to dinner at Red Robin.
There, the staff announced to all that it was Trevor's 1st birthday and sang a corny little song.
He liked the attention and the free sundae!!!

The next day, his family and friends threw him a party at Gramma's Cottage.
There he discovered the fun of birthday cake

A surprise bonus was the fireworks show that evening. Trevor had a perfect view from the beach. It was a storybook ending to the perfect 1st birthday.
THE END
