For a while now, we've been striving toward doing a two-week OBX trip- one week with Colombo's side, and one week with my side. The hope was to even stay put in the same house, and although that didn't happen, we DID manage to do both families back-to-back. This was our 2nd time doing Colombo's side and 4th time doing my side.
DiSalvatore, week 1. Headcount: 36. MIA: Jon & Annie's crew, except Gabby came with us. She was a total delight and so great to have her along! We stayed in a 10 bedroom house that my family stayed in, in 2018- My Blue Heaven. We drove through the night Friday with two vehicles. C4 did a good bit of one car. We arrived around 8:30a to Lighthouse Bagels and met up with others who had also driven through the night. It's just about exactly halfway between the Northeast crew and the Orlando crew.
We had an amazing week of weather and so much quality time together. In the interest of time, I'm just posting a bunch of pictures from a bunch of people. Some did the Lighthouse, some did a Wild Horse Tour, some did the Kitty Hawk Museum. It was nice that people felt the freedom to come and go and make it their own vacation. Other highlights: food, wrestling, puzzle, fishing, surfing, Simon Says, Secret Hitler, a whisky tasting night (for the dudes!), a local art show, beach, pool, shooting basketballs from the 3rd floor deck to the pool hoop, being together, lots of laughter, many memories made!
The early arrival crew who waited on the beach until the house was ready.
Our family served dinner the first night.
Game of Celebrity
Baby DiSalvatore due in November
After-dinner walks to the beach were a hit.
Matt and Rachel's family did a wild horse tour at sunset and were not disappointed.
