Renna's afternoon of fun with my camera.
I spend most treatment days in the kitchen. It helps a helpless person feel slightly helpful. It busies my hands and is good time to pray. I try to get the kids involved to give them a sense of service (even though I prefer to do it alone) and Colombo takes on all of the dishes and clean up as his contribution.
Tuesday, Oct. 18thHappy 26th Anniversary to us. If I'm being honest, it was a year of good growth with a few recent months of some really difficult. Life is layered right now. All we know to do is to keep putting one foot in front of the other and to keep fighting for our relationship. When you add up a sister with cancer, walking along dear friends divorcing, wedding planning stress, friends with health challenges, rearing teens, and all the additional layers of living in a fallen world, it can all feel overwhelming sometimes, BUT we have each other, we have commitment, we have grit, and we have His grace that covers all.

A whole gang of us ventured out to Avery and Amanda's soccer game. It was Senior Night, which meant the Juniors (Amanda) were recognizing the Seniors (Avery). It seems impossible that Avery is a senior, and I know from experience (x3) how
fast the next few months will fly by as all the senior "things" come along. It was so fun to see the girls on the field together. More than once Amanda set up Avery for a shot. As an extra treat, Avery had an incredible game, scoring a hat trick!
Lisa, just 24 hours post-treatment, watched the first half and was able to bravely smile for the half-time senior ceremony. Such a hard night. Such a happy night.
Wednesday, Oct. 19th
Lots more campaign calls!
I regret not getting a picture, but we went out to celebrate our anniversary. Dinner at J. Gilbert's and then a Lady A concert. Unfortunately....the concert didn't happen. Colombo had bought tickets without my knowing over the summer, but that show got postponed to Oct. 19th. So he planned our anniversary around it. The problem: When we pulled into an empty parking lot, he looked it up to more-closely read that the postponement was to Oct. 19, 2023! I guess I know how we'll celebrate our 27th!
Thursday, Oct. 20th
Ninny bought Renna a gratitude pumpkin.
Friday, Oct. 21st
Annual walk-a-thon and spirit day at East. Trevor is somewhere mixed in with those Juniors.
I caught Avery and Amanda's game versus Bolton (Sarah).
Saturday, Oct. 22nd
Happy Birthday to Sienna, which meant Renna got to tag along to all the festivities.
Just Rocco and I for dinner, so we went to visit Juliet at work. Our first time at The Main Course. We were both very happy with our meals.
Sunday, Oct. 23rd
Rocco's home slot is Sunday at 1:50 so this is where you'll find me.
We spent the afternoon visiting with Tori (Grosvenor) and her amazing new husband, Adam, and then they came to Nathanael's game. We were shocked to walk in and see a lot of fans there for him! The poor three girls down front were not with us and didn't know what to do while Renna took pictures. I'm so glad he has a fan club. His games are fast, rough, and competitive.
All the grandkids (even those out of state) submitted a brief birthday message and Lainie put them together in a video montage. Mom loved it!
We ventured out to Avery and Amada's last game of the season.
