Tuesday, May 1st
May Day!  I guess it's not much of a thing in many homes.  It's not in ours either, but growing up, my Dad had a May Day tradition of us kids and him filling a basket full of my mom's favorites- a magazine, Fritos, lotion- little things she liked.  Us kids would garnish it with grass and whatever little spring blooms we could find around the yard, probably mostly dandelions.  Then we would sneak up to the front door, leave the basket on the steps, ring the doorbell, and quickly go hide behind the bushes to watch her answer the door and be "surprised."

I've continued taking my kids out to Gramma's every year with a basket of goodies.  They think it's fun to sneak up and surprise her.  The beautiful tulips were from my husband with a little Happy May Day note when I got home from the gym.  I was SHOCKED that he remembered.

Wednesday, May 2nd

Painting, painting, painting the kids' bathroom.

Friday, May 4th
C4 and Kelly went to her senior prom.  We took pictures at Manchester Country Club.

Kelly was stunning!  Her dress and hair, perfection!  We battled the wind, but managed to get some great photos.

 They went with her two friends.

Saturday, May 5th
Cinco de Mayo / Derby Day was packed full!  It started with my Crossfit Derby Day Competition.  The comp went well.  Three different WODs.  My partner and I were very comprable and our goal was to have fun and not get hurt.  We managed to achieve that and came in 6th out of 10 in the scaled division.  Mostly, I'm just grateful for a healthy body that from time to time does more than I think possible.  I'm also extremely grateful for this picture full of people who love me enough to come support me on a Saturday morning.  My heart was so full.

Halfway through the comp, Colombo left for Peru- his fifth trip there.  The day also involved a fun Trevor story including a gas can, a dead battery, pants, and the 'joys' of being a mom!

The girls had competition (locally) so we scooted right there.  We found out in January that this comp was using Maddy on the cover of all of their programs all over the country for the entire 6 month comp season, but we were surprised to see that she was also on the banner just inside the doors.  Lots of posing and shenanigans around it for the two days.

One of Renna's little teammate's lives 1 mile from the venue and they had some of us over for tacos (Cinco de Mayo).

Back at awards, both of Renna's dances won 1st place in Overalls.

Sunday, May 6th

An early morning!  In the car at 6:15 so Maddy could take the workshop.  She's committed!

Again, my heart could have burst!!  Not pictured: Mom, Russ, Lisa, Avery and Aiden. We are blessed with a wonderful community of cheerleaders!

 And this just melted me!  My two nieces watching Maddy by live stream.

 Maddy won Title, which for a variety of reasons (#dancedrama) was a good feeling.  A handful of fans made it to the bitter end.

 Maddy was the last dancer to leave the building after an extensive discussion with Miss Lynsie, who has watched Maddy for several years.  She was so, so, so encouraging and helpful.  She spoke life into my girl.

I stopped in at McD because my girl requested a McFlurry.  I was a bit confounded by this sign / option. Like, how is this easier, quicker, different than drive-thru?
