Week 44

Monday, Oct. 30th
A first for our family...we bought a 1/4 cow and this day was cutting and wrapping.  Knowing exactly where the meat is from, getting a great price, choosing your own cuts is all well and good.  The process?  I'm still not sure.  Mom and Tim swear by it, so now I have a year's worth of beef in the freezer.  I felt so, so bad, though because I never put the date in my calendar.  Mom and Russ called me after they were already working to say, "You still coming?"  Ugh.  Thankfully we all pitched in and got the job done.
That's Wyatt with the Bourquin's half.

The night before, the northeast got hammered with a windstorm.  We were fine, but many were out of power for days.
My little trunk helper.
My big trunk helper.
Tuesday, Oct. 31st
Let's start here...the cutest costumes I saw all year!!!
Moving onto my crew.  Some pretty cute people and way to many pictures.  Sorry.
Maddy, Rocco, and Renna collaborated for a Diner trunk, C4 was semi festive to go and volunteer, Trevor was a boxer, and Nathanael...chicken "cord on blue."
Maddy's sweet friend, Madelynn from dance, helped out for the evening.  Maddy did her entire trunk completely on her own.
Rocco opted for roller blades- car hop style- for the first half of the night.

I never got a great pictures, but Renna spent the majority of the evening out in the cold, giving candy to everyone who passed her by.  She was so cute about it!
One of my favorite costumes of the night.  He was in a little astronaut costume sitting in his wagon turned space shuttle.
Inside was carnival games, the kids' praise team, bounce houses, food, and an illusionist.

Loved this trunk.  Her washing machine blew bubbles the entire night.

 Out Bubble Gum Machine van.
Colombo's such a good sport!

How sweet is she??!!!  Her mom was sooo excited!
Another trunk I liked up and over from where we were parked.
Wednesday, Nov. 1st
Prince of Peace auditions.
 "Mom, take aw pik-cha."
C4 worked his first basketball game.  Right down where the action was.

Thursday, Nov. 2nd
I had a bunch of 'memories' pop up in my Facebook feed.  I can't even stand it!

Nothing speaks love like walking into a kitchen with the dishes done after I had RUN out of there a couple hours earlier to deliver meals and take kids to dance.  He's on point with his dishes game.  I still owe Michael Zerbini big for that!
Friday, Nov. 3rd
Warm enough that shirts were optional.
Saturday, Nov. 4th
Rocco earned the hard hat at his game.  That means the coaches saw that he worked hard on the ice the entire game.  The following game it gets passed to someone else.
We went to dinner with Bob and Jules.  Just a tiny restaurant in Hartford off the beaten path, so imagine our shock to see Emily (who is away at college in DC) and her boyfriend walk in!  They were coming from a show at the Bushnell.
Sunday, Nov. 5th
Renna looking way too cute, going over her script after rehearsal.  She's in love with her cheap Hobby Lobby / hand painted costume shoes from her Diner days.
 Treasures found on my phone.
Maddy and I ventured into a very seedy area of Hartford to a brewery to see a dance showcase that two of her former teachers were dancing in.  Mother of the year!  The crowd was intensely artsy and I'm not even cool (or PC) enough to think of the other word.  Hipster?  I dunno.  All on a quest for individualism, expression, and the best thrift store vintage finds, but all looking suspiciously uniform.  Whatever the case may be, that was this crowd.
A hockey mom passed along this incredible shot by Nathanael.  Not even sure when it was taken.
