Week 3--January Birthdays

Monday, Jan. 15th

Happy Birthday, C4!!!  ...and Lisa, and MLK, Jr., and Brent, and Rick Miller.....it's a big birth day!  But this sweet, little guy completely stole my heart 25 years ago!  I never knew a love so deep, so natural, so right.  He filled our days -our lives- with joy and delight, and it's still the same!  He's an amazing human!

I picked up a couple teas and scooted out to sit and chat with this beautiful birthday girl for an hour at her office.  Her birthday, but the together time was a gift to me.  So grateful to celebrate another birthday- one that, more than once, we weren't sure we'd see.

These clowns somehow convinced me to take them to Sephora and Ulta to spend some Christmas money.  I agreed so long as Renna still completed school in the morning.  It was also part of the deal that I would sit in the car until they were in line to pay!

Dollar Tree lashes and nails for their over-the-top glam look.

Tuesday, Jan. 16th
The boys were home doing school remotely due to inclement weather.  No one was sad about that.  Then we all loaded up to meet the Rambaroses in Enfield to celebrate the January birthdays.  With one passenger too many, we had to be creative, so I took the back row.  The truck was filled with stories and laughter and love all the way up and back.
The star of the show!

She was too busy smiling at Juliet to take a visit with Titi.

Wednesday, Jan. 17th
Trevor had his first swim meet of the season.  There's only four kids on the team this year.  He looked great!  Strong and smooth.

Kiki sent along this one from a decade ago!

Thursday, Jan. 18th
The only picture of the day.  I wanted to road-trip down to my friend's funeral so I invited Sarah to join me.  She was back-and-forth with whether to go or not.  Thursday morning, she actually texted that she had decided not to go and to just watch the live-stream, but then less than an hour later, she texted that an afternoon meeting she had got cancelled, so she was putting a bag together!  We had a perfectly smooth 10 hour ride down to Virginia, talking, laughing, reminiscing, telling stories, reconnecting, and confiding.  Here we are...road-weary and so happy to be half a mile from our hotel for dinner.

Friday, Jan. 19th
Sarah and I had a slow morning.  I ran in the fitness center, we checked out, and then made our way to the church.

It was an absolutely beautiful service, filled with personal stories.  A beautiful tribute honoring a beautiful person.  Her son spoke of the power of a mother's unconditional love and her husband had us all laughing and crying telling stories of their life together over the last 27 years.  My heart was thrilled to know that she never changed- she stayed the same giggly, pranking, precocious, big-hearted, always smiling, lover-of-Jesus Amy that I remembered from our teen years together.  Gone way too soon.  Not goodbye, but see you soon!
And then Sarah and I got back in the car for the 10 hours home, getting kid updates along the way (the boys had no school).  I pulled into the garage at 1:15am.

Saturday, Jan. 20th
They shared a silly moment opening a bottle of sparkling cider left over from NYE.
The Cours came to Fan-Man's game.

Sunday, Jan. 21st
Colombo sent a picture from Renna's game, "Gotta love John 3:16 on her stick while she sits in the Sin Bin."
Sienna and Renna also were invited to try-out for an elite all-girls program.  They were on opposing tryout groups.  Spoiler alert: they both got a call-back.
Miss Ezra is growing, growing and almost filling up her little 'boat'.

I covered Rocky's game (they won) and then did the noon service.

I picked up Harlem from the toddler room since his mom came to service and he sat through the kickoff meeting for Passion.  I'm not exactly sure what my role will be this year, but I'm anxious to be involved at some level.  Such a huge turnout!
The boy and I played together.  Neither of us are used to it just being the two of us.

I ran him home and then met up with the girls for a lovely GNO dinner.  It was so good to catch up, but even with tow pro photographers in the group, we rarely get a picture!
