Monday, Aug. 4th
It was such a treat to have Maddy, Mason, and Ezra kickin' around the house for a few days.
We made a big list for Costco and TJs and did our haul in preparation for a 16-person Mediterranean themed dinner as M&M continue to raise funds.Colombo's employee's new husband is an avid tennis player and offered to give Rocco some tips and have a fun game together.
Tuesday, Aug. 5th
BIG day of chopping, cooking, setting, preparing. Maddy, Mason, and I all took from the to-do list and made a great team to get it all done.
Thankful for Bob and Jules opening their back deck and thankful for a lovely evening of weather and friends with open hearts and open arms. Our people are so, so good to us.
Wednesday, Aug. 6th
The kids both had friends over.
Thursday, Aug. 7th
I spent the entire day in the kitchen doing as much meal prep as I could for the next week at the Cape. Feeding 12 people 3x a day for a week takes a bit of planning and effort. I like to do as much ahead of time as possible so I can be in the Cape kitchen as little as possible.
Colombo and Renna had the treat of an invite to a friend's lake house and enjoyed tubing. Renna managed to get up on water skis on her second try!
Friday, Aug. 8th
Another day of Cape prep including a pedi for me and mani for Renna.
Maddy and Mason spent a few days in Florida. It was a gift to surprise Mason's grandmother for her birthday. While there, they reached out to the DiSalvatore cousins and sure enough- like they always do- everyone came out for an evening together. It's remarkable.
Saturday, Aug. 9th
OH HAPPY DAY! We hit the road around 1pm, got settled in, moved food from coolers to fridge, and excitedly reacquainted ourselves with our beloved Cape. As soon as we walked into the house, Rocco said, "This place has such good vibes."
I was up until 1:00 as everyone trickled in. C4 and Kelly at 11:45 after a concert, Maddy and Mason at midnight after their flight home, and Trevor at 12:40 straight from school. It was all so exciting and giddy as we chatted around the kitchen island, all so happy to be together. ALL my babies under one roof!!! I'll pause here and put all of the Cape into one post.
