Week 30--Bergen, day 3 & 4

Monday, July 20th

Morning walk with a buddy.

We had 12:30 tickets for a 3.5 hour fjord cruise.  Ezra was a bit under the weather, so Maddy stayed back with her.  We were all excited to be on a boat and all excited to see what Norway is so famous for.  We were not disappointed!  Quite typically, the pictures simply don't do it justice.  If one ever finds their way to this area of the globe, we highly recommend!

A chill afternoon.

The marrieds set out to have dinner together.

Then Boss Baby back at the house.  I can't get enough of her!

Believe it or not, I snapped this photo at 11:00pm from my bedroom window as I was heading to bed.  !!!  This time of year, the sun sets at 10:45p and rises at 4:45a.  We NEVER saw the dark!  So strange...and amazing!

Tuesday, July 21st

Morning walk.

Morning snuggles.  Almost every morning the timing was perfect that I'd get back from my walk as Bo was waking up.  Kell would pass him off and then get a couple more hours of sleep.

Ezra would hang, but did lots of zipping back and forth to see her parents.

We didn't have much of a plan for the day, except to do a family dinner out.  So on a whim, we decided to do a walking tour of City Centre.  So glad we did!!!!  Our last-minute-ness earned us a private tour as no one else signed up.  Laura (pictured), a student from Germany studying in Bergen, was fabulous!!!  Maddy didn't feel great, so she Kelly and Bo hung back.  This tour was one of C4's highlights from the trip.

We learned about history, culture, economy, architecture, climate, and of course....the fires. :)  We learned that it rains 260 days a year in Bergen, yet, the entire time we were there, it sprinkled for an hour while we were at dinner.

Our guide told us our AirBnB location could not have been more perfect, which we had already come to realize.

After a lazy afternoon, we headed to dinner, an Italian restaurant our guide recommended, Villani.

They had the perfect table for our crew and our server was the sweetest!  The restaurant was like a fantastical maze that just kept going and going.  So tasteful and fun.  The best meal of the trip and Rocco's best pizza of his life!

Super conveniently, the "best" ice cream shop was right next door.

Somehow they both fit and Ezra just thought is was darling to take a bath with cousins.

Rocco took the opportunity with the whole family gathered to present his power-point in hopes of being released from a New Year's resolution of NOT eating cereal for the year.   He had written it down in January on a thoughtless whim.  After 7 months without his beloved, we voted that he should go back to eating cereal.
