Week 34

Monday, Aug. 20th
Renna and Sienna started a week of VBS at the local Methodist church since we missed ours during OBX.  Maddy collaborated with her friend, Anna Essick, to shoot a music video.  I guess it was pretty legit, including some drone work.  This was the first day, done in an abandoned warehouse and field.  Can't wait to see the final product!

At the gym that morning, I worked out with a guy who said he was only there for the day; he said he'd be performing at the library later.  Performing???  Apparently there are people who make a living being a professional juggler and beat-boxer.  I took the kids, plus extras and met Andrea, plus extras and we made up half the audience.  His show was highly entertaining.  I think we laughed for the entire hour!
The little girl on the far right actually wasn't with our group, but desperately wanted to be in our picture.
Foul shots!
Wednesday, Aug. 22nd
Maddy played dress up with Gabby, Gianna, Isa, Alberto, and Trev and photographed them.  My heart jumped when I saw the girls in makeup!!!  All grown up.

Thursday, Aug. 23rd
They dressed 'matching' every day, but this was the best one! (Even the bandaid!) They had such a fun week together.
2nd Annual Lemonade stand for Kitchen of Love.

Maddy wanted to take the littles out to grab some food and do the Target run for school supplies.
That left me and C3 with nothing to do except Bricco's!!!
Friday, Aug. 24th
Had SUCH a nice breakfast date with my dad.  So thankful he's mine and he's interested in my life.  He played me his new song in the parking lot.

Saturday, Aug. 25th
Annual union picnic that Mom and Russ treat us to.  The kids look forward to it all summer long.  Endless food, endless sugar, endless prizes...what's not to like??!?!?  Sadie in particular enjoyed the fact that Mommy was at home and Daddy was "in charge".

We changed quickly and made it to church.  After, Maddy and Nathanael went to the Yard Goats game for Faith night, where our church had a section of seats.
Sunday, Aug. 26th
Soakin' up the last of the family fun days by the pool, knowing they will be over and done with all too quickly!

We hosted Fran and Ty (two of Maddy's [now former] teachers, who themselves are BFF's) for Daddy's dinner and card games.  They were good sports about tolerating our chaos.  Fran and Ty have not only been wonderful teachers but have also developed a friendship with her.  Because they are both dancers, they speak her language and cheer her on in a way non-dancers cannot.  They really root for her and I'm thankful for that.
